How many "same" shots does it take before your shot becomes AUTOMATICALLY CONSISTENT?

500?  1,000?  10,000?  100,000?  Try 200,000.  That's how many "same technique" shots it takes before your shot becomes automatic.  Automatic means you shoot the ball the same way every time without having to even think about it.  This is the level NBA and high level college players have risen to.  Good or bad, there shooting techniques are consistent because they have taken more than 200,000 shots the same way through many hours of practice time.  Someone asked the question, "how many shots would I have to take every day for me to shoot 200,000 shots in 1 year?"  Well, to be exact (almost), you would need to shoot 548 "same" shots 7 days a week for 1 year to reach 200,000.  And if you take 2 days off every week the number increases to 767 "same" shots 5 days a week for 1 year straight.  This is why there are very few great shooters.  It takes a high number of repetitions done the same way in order for a shot to become automatically consistent.  Most players are not willing to invest that much time and effort into their shooting future.  This week at the AP Shooting Academy, we are providing our campers an opportunity to build the habits and skills necessary to being the journey toward becoming a great shooter, or at least the very best shooter each player can become.  Join us at one of our camps or training sessions if you want to take your shooting game to the next level!
